You can check the status of your refund once every 24 hours through the IRS website for an up to the minute status of your tax refund.
The IRS typically issues refunds in less than 21 days after receiving your tax return. Sometimes, tax returns even though there is nothing wrong with them, may require a few additional days’ review.
Typically, there is nothing to worry about. We only suggest calling us to check on the status if you haven’t received your return and one of these apply:
- It’s been 21 days or more since you filed electronically;
- It has been more than 6 weeks since you mailed your paper return; or
- The Where’s My Refund? tool directs you to contact the IRS.
